The trek to Kibo Hut is a steep and challenging ascent, with the terrain becoming increasingly rocky and uneven as you climb higher. However, the effort is well worth it for the incredible views and the opportunity to see the stunning alpine desert landscape up close. As you approach the Kibo Hut, you will be struck by the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscape. The hut is located at the base of the Kibo crater wall, and the views of the surrounding peaks and valleys are truly awe-inspiring. Day 5 : Trek from Kibo Hut to Summit and back to Horombo Hut

Early in the morning, you will set out on the ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the world's highest freestanding mountains. You will begin at Kibo Hut, which sits at an elevation of 4,700 meters (15,420 feet). From there, you will ascend through steep and heavy scree or snow to Gilman's Point, which is located on the crater rim at an elevation of 5,685 meters (18,700 feet). This is the highest point of the climb and offers breath-taking views of the surrounding landscape. After a short rest and photo opportunity, you will continue your journey to the summit of Kilimanjaro, reaching the peak of Uhuru Peak at an elevation of 5,895 meters (19,340 feet). This is the highest point in Africa and a major accomplishment for anyone who reaches it. From the summit, you will begin your descent back down to Kibo Hut. Along the way, you will stop for lunch and a rest at Kibo before continuing on to the Horombo encampment for overnight.

After breakfast, you will begin your descent from Horombo Hut back down to the National Park gate at Marangu. As you make your way down, you will be surrounded by a variety of plant and animal life, including elephants, buffalo, and colobus monkeys.
